NEWS: MELT Innovation Forum panel discussion titled "From Luxury to Street Style – Estonian Design’s Global Reach" with Founder & Designer Mariliis Pikkar
On April 15, 2025, Marimo's Founder and Designer Mariliis joined a panel discussion at the MELT Innovation Forum, organized by Tallinn Enterprise Centre at Kultuurikatel.
"It was an exciting lineup, and I’m honored to have been part of a panel discussion that’s all about taking Estonian fashion to the global stage. Titled "From Luxury to Street Style – Estonian Design’s Global Reach," we dove into the challenges and opportunities of taking Estonian fashion global, alongside Michael Burich (Maison Beast) and Jüri Belov (Racer Worldwide). Our discussion was moderated by Kaarel Mikkin.
At Marimo, we’ve spent years figuring out what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to luxury fashion exports. Luxury fashion is a unique space—success isn’t just about selling beautiful clothing. From understanding different markets to building trust with international clients, every step requires strategy, persistence, and a lot of learning.
Every fashion brand has its own journey, and it was inspiring to hear Michael’s and Jüri’s experiences as well. I hope this discussion inspired other Estonian designers and entrepreneurs who are dreaming of going global. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely possible—and events like MELT remind us that we’re not doing it alone.
A huge thank you to Tallinn Enterprise Centre for bringing together such an inspiring event. Hope you all enjoy the unique caricature, created by the talented Karmo Ruusmaa— such a fun and creative way to introduce the panelists!"
