HOW I WORE MARIMO ON VACATION

Hello dear friends,

I just returned from a much-needed two-week vacation with my family. It was exactly what I needed to reset and recharge. And while the vacation days were beautifully unstructured, there was one thing that grounded me: the simplicity of my wardrobe.

I packed light — just a small suitcase — and it felt freeing. No overthinking, no "just in case" items. Just a few of my favorite Marimo pieces that made me feel both comfortable and elegant, whether we were heading to dinner or chasing the kids down a beach trail. Thought I’d share four of the pieces I lived in, in case you’re planning your own summer getaway or simply dreaming of one.

The black silk slip dress — my vacation MVP

I wore it during the day with sneakers and if cold, the cardigan, then in the evening with a festive crystal belt and a swipe of lipstick. It’s the kind of piece that moves with you — light, breathable, quietly elegant. I forgot how effortless it can feel when one dress does it all. I honestly could have worn it every day.

A sweet surprise from the archives

One day, I slipped into this cotton pencil dress from a very early Marimo collection — I hadn’t worn it in ages. Its fitted cut and playful spotted pattern made it perfect for a sunny day at the ruins of the Viljandi Order Castle.

While this exact design isn’t in the current line, it reminded me how timeless silhouettes never really go out of style. That’s the beauty of thoughtful design — it stays with you.

My constant travel companion: the cashmere cardigan

Every time it rained (which was more than I expected) or the evenings cooled down, I reached for this cardigan. It added just the right layer over my dresses. Soft, warm, and never bulky — I rarely travel without it. And yes, it’s still available because I truly believe everyone needs one.

For dinners out: the olive silk skirt

This skirt features my favorite jacquard pattern I’ve ever found. The olive-patterned silk is such a fun print and the skirt catches the light so beautifully in the evening. I wore it to dinner more than once, pairing it with a simple black top and flat sandals. It’s festive without being loud — just the kind of elegance I love when traveling light.

These few pieces reminded me that packing well isn’t about bringing more — it’s about choosing the right pieces that make you feel like yourself, wherever you are. When I design for Marimo, I think about moments like these - real life, real movement, and real memories. Whether you're traveling, working, parenting, or doing a little bit of everything like I often am, these pieces are meant to bring you quiet confidence. And if you’re curating your own travel wardrobe, you’ll find timeless Marimo pieces made exactly for this kind of ease and joy.

Warmly,
