MARIMO JOINS THE CANVAS IN NEW YORK CITY

It’s official — Marimo is going to New York! We are incredibly excited to share that Marimo will soon be featured at The Canvas store’s newest location in SoHo, New York City — at 456 W Broadway, right in the heart of the world’s most iconic retail neighborhood.

A New Home in New York

The Canvas is a multibrand fashion and design retailer that curates a selection of thoughtful, independent brands from around the world. Their mission is to champion sustainable design, creativity, and innovation — and we are beyond honored to be joining their inspiring community of designers.

Their newest space in SoHo is not just a store; it’s a vibrant home for emerging designers and global creatives. The store hosts a series of rotating pop-ups and collections, and next to Marimo, you’ll find an inspiring range of designers from all over the world — all bringing their unique vision to New York City.

A Dream Come True, The Power of Connection

For us, this moment feels like a dream. Expanding to New York has been one of those quiet hopes we’ve carried for a long time. To see it unfold now — and in such a meaningful way — is both humbling and energizing.

The story behind how this came to be is one of those beautiful, serendipitous moments that reminds us how human connections shape our path. On a work trip, my husband met the Estonian Honorary Consul in New York and casually suggested she visit our atelier in Tallinn. She came, we talked about Marimo's values, she tried on some pieces and saw the craftsmanship behind them — and later, she recommended that we get in touch with someone who could open a very interesting door.

That person turned out to be an Estonian woman based in New York, who is deeply passionate about bringing Estonian design to the global stage. She’s also part of The Canvas project, and just like that — the connection was made. A few conversations later, and we found ourselves invited to be part of this beautiful new space in SoHo.

This opportunity isn’t just a new store location. It’s a milestone. A chapter that connects our Estonian roots with the energy of New York. And we couldn’t be more grateful.
