We often ask for a photo taken in natural daylight or suggest seasonal palettes that align with your overall look and wardrobe. Once all the details are finalized, our team of tailors begins crafting your garment. Each piece is handmade with meticulous attention to detail and typically takes 4–6 weeks to complete, depending on its complexity. We care deeply about achieving a perfect fit, so if anything feels off after you receive your pieces, we’re happy to make the necessary alterations.

A relationship beyond one order

Every made-to-measure order is a collaboration. We love staying in touch with our clients — sharing styling suggestions, inspiration, or creating coordinating pieces for future occasions. Some of our most cherished relationships have grown from a single custom order.

Last month, we had the joy of welcoming Blair, a dear client from the U.S., to our atelier. It was a wonderful experience finally meeting her in person. We spent the day trying on pieces from her wishlist, discussing fashion and talking about life over dinner. We even made a short interview with her, read what she shared!

Q: What made you decide to visit Marimo in person all the way from the US?

I was very moved by how Mariliis has her brand set up. I couldn't do business with a better person, truthfully. It's an honor to be here. The distance didn't affect that decision at all.They don’t make things with care where I come from. Here, it’s quite the opposite. The made-to-order approach is far superior. Plus, Mariliis talks about waste a lot — which is important to me. The US is really good at mastering the unfortunate habit of waste. Someone back home even asked me, “You clothes shop there, why?” I was like — don’t get me started. Do you see what happens in those factories in Bangladesh? I want to avoid throwing any ounce of my money at that, if I can. I mean, everyone has to go to the store once in a while, and that's fine. But I’m aware. And I don’t shop all the time. It’s one thing if you don’t know — but if you do know, then you ask yourself: “Do I really feel good about that purchase?” And if the answer is no, it can wait.

Q: How did you discover Marimo?

I was watching etiquette videos on YouTube. Anna Bey had really great things to say about basic manners — and I think everybody can improve, including myself. I enjoyed her videos, and she talked about what clothing she was wearing. Marimo came up, and I thought, I like that. Then I went to the website and thought — this is really, really great clothing. It’s legendary clothing, honestly.

Q: Was it a quick decision to order, or did you hesitate at first?

I had to sit on it just a little bit — because of lifestyle. I asked myself: how can I fit it in, how often would I wear it? I don’t wear it every day because I want to keep it preserved. But if I’m going out in the evening? Of course I wear it.

Q: How did it feel to see a Marimo product in real life for the first time?

I think my first purchase was a couple of skirts… and this shirt. Yeah, I think that was it. It felt wonderful. The quality was a dead giveaway — I knew right away it was made with love.

Q: What do you value most about Marimo?

It’s inclusive to all women in all walks of life — regardless of size or career or being a stay-at-home mom. It’s encouraging for everyone to look their best. That’s what I really enjoy about it.

Q: And how did it feel to see the team in real life?

It’s everything I expected it to be and more. The ladies are fabulous. We’ve been having girl talk for hours. I love being here. It’s far more than just a clothing store — you guys have an identity. This is great. Everybody should be shopping here. I don’t care where they’re from — if I can make it, anybody can make it!
