MY DEBUT AS FACE OF THE NEW COLLECTION

With these photos I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our new FW24/25 collection “Whispers of Water.” The inspiration for this collection came to me while on a weekend getaway at a countryside retreat with my husband. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary with leisurely strolls in the manor park and beautiful dinners in the grand hall. It was the perfect mini-vacation, for which I packed a small bag with the most versatile pieces—just like this collection.

With the festive season approaching, my idea was to design pieces perfect for special events. But when we think of evening gowns or cocktail dresses, they often stay in the closet afterward, waiting for another occasion. That’s why I focused on creating tops and skirts that can be worn together as stunning evening attire, but afterward, can transition easily into everyday wear.

Styling the collection

As with all Marimo collections, I limited myself to just 12 pieces, with the goal of creating items that pair seamlessly with Marimo’s earlier collections. Sustainability is very important to me and I focus on designing wearable garments and highlighting the many ways they can be styled. Styling plays a crucial role in Marimo, and this collection is no exception.

Styling this collection is all about making each piece work for a variety of occasions. For instance, take the evening gown—while it exudes elegance on its own, I encourage you to layer it with a sweater and pair it with boots for a more casual, yet stylish look. This creates a chic, cozy option for relaxed gatherings or daytime outings, allowing you to extend the wearability of your favorite festive pieces beyond formal events. The beauty of this collection lies in its adaptability, offering effortless style whether you're dressing up or down.

STEPPING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

For as long as I can remember, I haven’t loved being in front of the camera. I’ve always preferred being behind it - giving instructions to the model or directing how the clothes should be styled, and so on.

At some point, everything changed. I began stepping in front of the camera because it became increasingly important to show who is behind the brand. We, as humans, connect with real people, and it was essential for me to present myself as the designer. We decided, it’s needed to offer advice on how to wear Marimo garments and demonstrate their versatility.

Fast forward to 2024, and I became the model for our fall-winter collection’s campaign. I’m incredibly grateful to the team who created such a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for me. I felt at ease and was guided wonderfully by the photographer Julia Astok. In situations like this, it’s crucial to have people around who believe in you and gently guide you through something that’s out of your comfort zone.

I wanted to achieve the best results, but I’m obviously not a professional model - I’m just a regular woman. But as all Marimo garments are made for regular women,  I truly hope you connect with these photos.
