CLIENT INTERVIEW: MEETING HANNA IN NEW YORK

We’re excited to share something a little more personal from our client. While visiting New York, Mariliis had the chance to sit down with our long-time client Hanna for a warm and inspiring conversation. In this special feature, Hanna answers five thoughtful questions about her relationship to our brand. We hope you enjoy this inside look into the women who inspire our work every day.

How did you discover MARIMO?

I discovered Marimo after seeing someone wearing a piece from their collection on Instagram, and then I saw others, such as Tess Montgomery, wearing Marimo as well. I researched the brand and was instantly attracted to the services they offered, and the quality looked amazing. They aligned with my perspective regarding quality and sustainability.

What was your first purchase?

My first purchase was a jumpsuit, and I absolutely loved it. It fit like a glove and was so elegant.

What led you to the first purchase - were you not intimidated by the fact that it’s a brand from Estonia?

I was not intimidated by the fact that the brand was from Estonia at all. In the U.S., the quality of garments is not consistently high, and fast fashion is the prevailing trend. I associate Europe with a higher quality standard in general (such as Italy and France), so I was confident that the quality would be the same or even better. I also prefer a smaller brand that offers a personalized, tailored experience vs a larger brand where you are just a number.

What keeps you as a loyal client? Why choose us over Chanel or Dior?

I have had some “not so great” experiences with some other high-end brands where the quality was lacking. For the price points of those brands, design and quality should be flawless; unfortunately, this was not the case. When I brought it to their attention, they made no effort to repair the items. Customer service was lacking and even nonexistent in these cases.

How do MARIMO clothes make you feel?

Their clothing makes me feel elegant, classy, yet comfortable, and I could go anywhere in the outfits (from work to after dinner drinks or shopping on 5th Ave, or if I put sneakers on, I can attend my son's school PTA events no problem). I also like the fact that there are no huge symbols or tags/logos on the clothing. Marimo is refined luxury at its best.

I want to emphasize how much I love the Marimo brand. A process from far away was made seamless and pain-free. The attention to detail and quality are excellent, and working with the designer herself lends a personalized and tailored touch. I plan to continue being a loyal customer for many years to come.

in Hanna’s own words

This is not a paid advertisement but just the opinions of an actual customer who was “wowed” by a made-to-measure service and quality that is not typically found in the United States. Other similar types of companies do NOT offer this kind of convenience (I would have to go into the atelier). As a professional and a mother, my time is limited, and this was a great way to get bespoke clothing.

Other companies also do not produce the same fit in their products. Many other brands also stop producing clothing in sizes larger than US 12. What about the people who are size 14 or 16? They often get ignored because they are not considered petite or plus-size either.

With Marimo's made-to-order service, your garment is guaranteed to fit your body type perfectly. Mariliis and her team work their “magic” and get it right on the first try. They are open and accommodating, offering Zooms, emails, and phone consultations, and really do go above and beyond.

Thank you Mariliis and team!

Warmly,

Mariliis
