CLIENT INTERVIEW: Blair made the journey from the US to Estonia

This May we had the pleasure of welcoming someone very special to our boutique in Tallinn

A long-time Marimo client who made the journey all the way from the United States to visit us in person. She discovered Marimo back in 2021 through an etiquette video on YouTube. “I was watching Anna Bey’s content, and I loved what she said about elegance and quality,” she told us. “When she mentioned Marimo, I went straight to the website. I thought—this is really great clothing. Legendary, even.“

But her first order didn’t happen overnight. “I had to sit with it for a little while,” she admitted. “Not because I wasn’t sure about the brand, but because I wanted to be intentional—how would these pieces fit into my lifestyle? How often would I wear them? I don’t shop impulsively.”

Eventually, she placed her first order: a couple of skirts and a shirt. “When it arrived, I knew immediately—I’d made the right decision. The quality was a dead giveaway. It felt wonderful. I could tell it was made with love.” Over the years, her connection with Marimo deepened. She slowly added more pieces to her wardrobe, each chosen with care. But what truly drew her in was more than craftsmanship—it was purpose.

“The made-to-order approach is far superior,” she said. “They don’t make things with care where I come from. The US has really mastered the unfortunate habit of waste. Here, it’s quite the opposite.” She continued: “If I can help it, I don’t want to put my money into that kind of system. Once you know what goes on behind the scenes in fast fashion—places like those factories in Bangladesh—it changes how you shop. I’d rather wait and invest in something meaningful.”

When she finally arrived at our atelier, she came with a carefully curated wishlist—pieces she had admired online and was now excited to see in person. We held a fitting, took her updated measurements to ensure future precision, and spent the evening over dinner chatting about life, fashion, and what it means to dress with intention.

Seeing the boutique, our team, and the garments up close didn’t disappoint. “It’s everything I expected it to be—and more. The ladies are fabulous. We’ve been having girl talk for hours!” It’s far more than just a clothing store,” she added. “You have an identity. You’ve built something truly special. Marimo is inclusive to all women—regardless of their lifestyle, career path, or size. And that’s what I really value. It’s encouraging, it’s empowering, and it’s real.”

Her visit was a powerful reminder of what we stand for: timeless design, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a community of women who value quality over quantity. “Everyone should be shopping here. I don’t care where they’re from,” she smiled. “If I can make it here, anyone can.” We’re incredibly grateful she made the journey—and that we could share such a heartfelt moment together.

Warmly,
